I3A Image Technology Committees

ANSI-accredited Standards Development

As an ANSI-accredited standard development organization (SDO), I3A fields five active Image Technology Committees, which develop standards, recommended practices and technical reports. I3A’s Image Technology committees encompass all aspects of imaging, from traditional silver-halide photography to advanced digital still picture imaging to recycling of photographic materials and more.

I3A standards are approved using an ANSI-accredited I3A standards process developed by the I3A standards management board. Stages include new work item proposal, standards management board ballot, development of technical document by an I3A Image Technology Committee, approval by Technology Committee member company ballot including resolution of comments, and final due process approval ballot by the standards management board.

I3A Image Technology Committees include:

IT1: Films & Papers

IT2: Image Evaluation

IT4: Photochemicals

IT9: Physical Properties & Permanence of Imaging Materials

IT10: Digital Photography
