Join an I3A Standards Effort

I3A welcomes participation in all of our standards-development activity. There is a separate process for joining each of the three groups:
ISO TC42
I3A Image Technology Committees
I3A Initiatives

How to Join ISO TC42

Participation on ISO/TC42 and its working groups is through the official ISO Member Body country organizations. (Find out more at the ISO Web site.) Experts must be nominated by their respective ISO Member Bodies. For more information, please contact the ISO/TC42 Secretariat or your official ISO Member Body.

USA Experts (TC42 participants) must be approved by the USA Technical Advisory Group for ISO/TC42. In order to be eligible to become a USA Expert, an individual must be a member in good standing of the corresponding I3A Image Technology Committee and represent a company or organization domiciled in the USA.

How to Join an I3A Image Technology Committee

Participation in I3A Image Technology Committees is open to all interested, qualified individuals and/or organizations. To become an Image Technology Committee member, please complete the I3A Standards Application Form and submit it to:

International Imaging Industry Association (I3A)

A fee is required for participation on each Technical Committee. As a membership benefit, current I3A members receive a discounted rate. The size of the discount depends on their membership level. All IT Fees are per participant and per committee. Fees for Corporate Experts are based on total company annual revenues.

How to Join an I3A Initiative

Participation in I3A Initiatives is open to all I3A members in good standing at the Strategic or Participating Membership level. Initiatives are open to new participants only during Open Enrollment periods.

A fee is required for participation in each Initiative, to fund its activities and deliverables. These fees are determined by the Initiative Work Plan created by the participants.
