IT1 – Films and Papers
Photographic Films, Papers, and Plates
The goal of I3A/IT1 is to establish specifications for imaging media. The I3A/IT1 committee focuses its efforts on developing standards for dimensions, identification, packaging, and related specifications, photographic films, papers and plates. Printing plates are not within the scope of IT1.
I3A/IT1 members represent users, governmental agencies, other standards organizations, and companies that manufacture photographic film, paper and plates, as well as other imaging media. Many members are also USA experts in WG8.
I3A/IT1 meetings are scheduled twice per year.

IT4 – Photochemicals
Photographic Processing
The Scope of IT4 is development of standards for photographic processing, including chemicals, effluents, equipment, supplied and procedures. I3A/IT4 Technical Committee has three active Subcommittees noted below.
- IT4-1 Specifications for Photographic Chemicals
- IT4-2 Photographic Processing Procedures
- T4-5 Photographic Effluents
I3A/IT4 members represent users, governmental agencies, other standards organizations, and companies that manufacture photographic chemicals, photographic film, paper and plates, as well as other imaging media. Many members are also USA experts on ISO/TC42 WG6.
I3A/IT4 meetings are scheduled once per year.

WG6 – Photographic Chemicals and Processing
WG6 focuses on developing standards for photographic processing supplies, equipment, and procedures.
WG6 meets every 18 months in conjunction with TC42 Plenary Meeting.

WG8 – Specifications for Films, Paper and Plates
WG8 focuses on developing specifications for dimensions, identification, packaging, and related characteristics for photographic films, papers and plates used for imaging. This committee’s work does not include standards or recommended practices for printing plates.
WG8 also typically meets once per year, in conjunction with IT1.
