Digital Imaging Interest Group

As new technology raises the limits of what is possible in digital photography, unforeseen challenges arise as new uses, devices and formats are introduced.  I3A's Digital Imaging Interest Group brings together companies with the interest and the expertise to develop solutions for these and other challenges that the future will certainly bring.  Initiatives of the Digital Imaging IG could tackle topics in areas such as color test and measurement, image transfer, image formats, device interfaces, data interchange, metadata (information about an image), and more.

Related I3A Digital Imaging past initiatives have included the Common Picture eXchange environment (CPXe); the DIG2000 effort that delivered file format technology for use within the JPEG 2000 standard; Internet Imaging Protocol (IIP), for transporting a Flashpix object over a network; Flashpix itself, a multi-resolution, tiled file format that allows single image files to be accessed at different resolutions for different purposes; the DIG35 metadata initiative; and Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP), a communication standard for digital photography devices.
