  • I3A Forms Board Advisory Council

The I3A Board of Directors has approved the formation of an I3A Participating member Board Advisory Council (BAC) to give the Participating members a louder voice and greater recognition within I3A. The core function of the BAC will be to create new ideas for Initiative Groups and other programs that fulfill the I3A Vision: To enable the use of imaging to simplify and enrich people’s lives through visual experiences that connect generations, communities, information and services. I3A drives the global imaging industry towards this future by bringing members together to create standards and collaborate on initiatives that advance the industry and remove barriers to growth.

Objectives of the BAC will be to:

    1. Provide opportunity for Participating members to become engaged in the activities of the association and to raise the visibility of their interests and issues
    2. Provide Participating members with a direct linkage to the Board of Directors
    3. Create a body focused on generating fresh thinking and new ideas for fulfilling the I3A Vision

Any Participating member company that has been a member of I3A for at least six (6) months and is a member in good standing is eligible to join the BAC. Candidates for the BAC must be mid-to senior-level employee representatives of a Participating member company. The maximum size of the BAC is twelve (12) persons. Only one (1) representative from each Participating company may join at one time. Representatives from Associate or Strategic member companies are not eligible for BAC membership. However, they may be invited from time to time by the BAC to participate in selected meetings or activities.

Participating member representatives wishing to join the BAC should submit their requests to the Nominating Committee of the Board (nominating@lists.i3a.org), with the following information:

    1. Name, title, area of interest
    2. Company name, length of time an I3A member
    3. List of any prior I3A Initiative groups, committees or other projects on which the member company has participated
    4. Reason for wishing to join the BAC
