I3A VISION 2020 Imaging Innovation Awards
VISION 2020 is an initiative to energize and recognize individuals, teams, organizations and companies whose innovations move us toward a vision of the future of intelligent imaging.
Why Is VISION 2020 Important?
I3A’s vision is to enable the use of imaging to simplify and enrich people’s lives through visual experiences that connect generations, communities, information and services. I3A drives the global imaging industry towards this future by bringing members together to create standards and collaborate on initiatives that advance the industry and remove barriers to growth.
We envision a future where images are increasingly used to enhance communication and quality of life in ways that are woven seamlessly and effortlessly throughout our daily lives. The goal of this project is to stimulate and promote progress towards this vision and to highlight the importance and unique opportunities rooted in the human visual experience.
The VISION 2020 Imaging Innovation Awards provide a way for innovators to get exposure for their ideas; ideas that embody and enable the future imaging vision.
The Imaging Innovation Awards Criteria
The Imaging Innovation Awards will be presented to those individuals, teams, organizations or companies whose product or service innovations enable the future vision. All entries must be imaging-related, but a broad view of imaging will be used. An innovation may come from the areas of capturing, storing, sharing, managing, processing or printing, among others.
Entries may come from anywhere along the product life cycle. The innovation may be early in the life cycle, showing great promise for changing the imaging landscape, but has not yet been introduced to the market. The innovation may be an emerging technology that has been introduced to the market but perhaps not yet demonstrated market success. Or the innovation may be farther along the life cycle, having clearly demonstrated market success and industry impact. Awards will be given for Gold, Silver and Bronze winners.
The Imaging Innovation Awards Judges
Judges will be an independent panel of technology press/analysts, industry analysts, academics, laboratory researchers or educators, entrepreneurs, technologists, inventors and venture capitalists.
The Imaging Innovation Awards Submissions
The submission period for the 2011 VISION 2020 Imaging Innovation Awards is now closed.
An independent panel of judges will review submissions and select the winners. An initial screening will determine the pool of finalists. Judges may request additional information from the finalists before the winners are selected, and some flexibility will be provided so that entrants may present their innovations in the best possible light. The number of finalists will be determined by the judging panel. The judges will then choose Gold, Silver and Bronze winners.
The winning innovations will be announced at the 6Sight Future of Imaging Summit on June 21, 2011 at 11am PT. Those winners who have elected to do so, will present their innovations at the Summit.
