WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Jan. 21, 2010 — The International Imaging Industry Association (I3A; http://www.i3a.org), the leading global association for the imaging industry, will for the first time sponsor the yearly high-profile PMDA Welcome Reception and Awards Dinner on February 20, where the annual I3A Leadership Award will be presented.

The PMDA (Photoimaging Manufacturers and Distributors Association; http://www.pmda.com/) reception and subsequent dinner take place on the eve of the annual PMA photo industry conference and trade show (http://www.pmai.org/pma2010_home.aspx), to be held this year in Anaheim, California. The PMDA gala evening is an annual industry highlight, focused on honoring outstanding industry individuals and technical achievements.

Each year for two decades, I3A’s Leadership Award has recognized one individual in the international imaging community who has exhibited the exemplary qualities and innovative vision of a leader. Recent award recipients include Atsushi “Andy” Kodera of Kyocera Sanyo Telecom, Inc. (2009), Makoto Kimura of the Nikon Imaging Company (2008), Antonio Perez of the Eastman Kodak Company (2007), Fumio Iwai of Konica Minolta Holdings, Inc. (2006), and Vyomesh Joshi of HP (2005).

“We are looking forward to I3A’s first-ever participation in this legendary event, where we will reveal which one of our industry’s prominent figures will be honored with this year’s I3A Leadership Award,” said Lisa Walker, President, International Imaging Industry Association. “We invite I3A members to share the spotlight at the reception to show their support for I3A and our new partner PMDA, and to join with us and PMDA at the celebratory dinner to follow.”
